There's a guy at work who joked during the last round of layoffs (4 years ago?) that laying people off while they are on site is the easiest thing to do because they just cancel your plane ticket home.
I now know exactly how it works. I got a phone call from the office back in Calgary this morning letting me know that I am being laid off. I have been given a choice of staying till the end of the project or going home early, I plan to stick it out.
I have the day off today, to think about my options. So I am hoping I can finally get my nails fixed, and see a bit more of Abu Dhabi.
